But he had just driven it 40 miles on the highway....then after stopping [ 
hopefully.....since it sounds like the Chief of Police  lugged it in 4th!!! ggg  
at 10 mph????  gggg]  the engine RATTLED...went away  and THEN started making 
the noise.....

will be interesting to find out what happened for sure!
