OK,

As I said the other day I got my 80 hp running again. But I am getting tired of the weak performance. 80hp+3spd. tranny. It is perfect for tooling around in town but is very bad on longer typed trips. I do hill climbing and freeway time to get to work and the poor little engine is doing some serious work to keep up.

I have a 102 in my garage that needs some surgury performed on it and I am wondering. If I use the 102 case and cam and install the low compression heads.

My thoughts are that the 102 has a higher winding cam and the 80 hp heads could allow me to run regular or plus in the tank. I know I would lose some hp but I figured that I would gain some bottom end torque.

I know I am not the first to think about this. What I am curious about is what are the experiences of people that has actually done this.
