my only input on noisey fuel pumps is make sure after taking the pump off you 
can remove the pushrod. the last noisey one i worked on had a pushrod 
mushroomed over and was very hard to remove. the rod got replaced(end was curved from 
not spinning) and a new pump. everything seems ok now.  i have seen this 
before and kinda thought the pushrod was binding? not able to spin? . i changed 
the oil to make sure i got all the metal out.   this is not the first time i 
found this over the years.
