<VV> VDO Gauges

Hi Ned,
Here are some other alternatives for you or someone else to consider:
1. I mounted one VDO CHT gauge and a switch so I could select either the
right or left CHT sending unit. I mounted these in the stock location for
cylinder head temp switch or thermister and connected the common sides
together and selected with a single pole dual position switch either the
right or left sending unit. The 14 mm ring can be mounted easily with some
brass or copper washers using either bolts or the stock hardware. That way
I could use up only one gauge position, but be able to read either one as I
wish.
2. Another approach might be to get a 555 timing circuit connected as an
astable oscillator and drive a relay with it. That way, you could have the
gauge automatically select one side then switch to the other and back. The
timing could be a few seconds on each side. If desired, an LED could be
mounted to indicate selected side. Alternatively, two LEDs could be
mounted to indicate right and left selections.
3. While I have not used the line that Clark's sells, they have a dual CHT
gauge for those wanting to see both gauges but only use one mounting position.
