<VV> Best way to Lexington

Group,
    I am making last minute plans to attend Lexington's Convention (my very
first one), starting the trip at Guadalajara, Mexico on next Saturday. Will
enter the US by Laredo TX, then by I-35 to Dallas TX, I-30 to Memphis TN, but,
from this point, which is the best route to Lexington ? I-40 to Nasville and
then I-65 ? or, is there a better route ?
    As I know, car's insurance is a must in the US but, don`t know yet about
temporary insurance for US and Canada (1 month). Do somebody provide with some
guidance about this ?
    Any answer should be greatly appreciated.
