First time out with my '64 after winter storage. Noticed these
electrical problems.
1. Coming home from cruise-in tonight, no tail lights. Replaced
fuse, every time I step on brake pedal, fuse blows. What could
cause this? Can brake switch be tested for short? How? Is brake
switch the same as other cars I might be able to buy at FLAPS?
Any other ideas?
2. No instrument panel lights or dome light. I know dome light
worked earlier today. Fuse for panel lights is OK.
3. Turn signal lights did not work, changed flasher. Left
signals OK now, still no right hand turn signals. When parking
lights are on and lever on for right hand signals, all parking
lights flash, front & rear, left & right.
I know mice have been in car over winter, but I didn't notice
where wires have been chewed on, but then I wasn't looking. Even
had the tunnel covers off, didn't notice anything unusual.
I am no good with electrical problems, any ideas to help me out
would be greatly appreciated!! Also any detailed explanations on
how to test for problems appreciated. I have a digital multi
meter and circuit test light. Thanks.
