Well, I admitted to not being a battery charger expert. But I have seen 
batteries left on chargers and boiled dry. Isn't that due to 
overcharging? And I once did have a battery that was bad in my Corvair. 
The charging system just kept charging it and charging it, boiling the 
water out of it and all over my shrouds, etc.
