<VV> The uninitiated

I have a temp working here, who is roughly 35 years old.  He saw my Corvair
for the first time today, because I happened to bring it to work today in
preparation for a club Cruise Night this evening.

He admired the car during lunch hour, paid me several compliments on the
car, but asked, "What's wrong with the dashboard?  What's that black bar
hanging loose under it?"

I had to think for a moment, then I asked, "To the left of the steering
wheel?"  Yes, he answered.

A 35-year-old guy, born about when Corvair production ended, has never seen
a lever-style parking brake.
