I don't know how common it is.  It happened once on one of my vehicles
that had very high mileage.  It was a daily driver that saw 50 miles per
day in traffic.  I had bought it used and have no idea of the original
mileage.  Usually the yokes are so rusted on that it takes a lot to get
them loose.  I had bought my first Corvair new in1962 and have had as
many as 8 in my drive way at one time.  That is against the law here now.
