Out of the realm of pure fantasy, and into the realm of reality. The
following is what the dream but not exotic engine for me was for years.
Many may have seen it already but...

The car sees weekly use, not daily but is a lot of fun.
Now for a dream engine for a daily driver. Once again, within practical
reason, not going into stuff like turbos or FI or stuff like that, although
I want to do that for a engine here soon. Anyway... 164 based engine,
with either NOS 80hp heads bored out to fit on late cyls or 95 heads, with
the step removed for a proper quench gap. All the work done to set up a
good between 9.5 and 10 Compression ratio. (Figure 95's or bored 80's will
be easier to set up a desired CR after milling) With all the good deep
seats, guides etc done to the heads. A set of 140 manifolds, and good
proper porting done in the heads to clean them up a bit.
Have a 64 Greenbrier in the family with basically this done and its a nice
nice driver setup.
