have you tried removing the oil cap with engine running? it should not put 
much pressure/smoke out under reving it up slightly.  if it is ok try different 
pcv system(valve or orfice)  there is a guage made for checking pcv balance at 
oil filler but i doubt you can find one now, i have an echlin one (just a 
round plastic unit with a small ball in it that goes from red to green area) from 
years ago that helps me in situations like this or just use your eye on 
filler on warm engine. watch for puffing or too much smoke coming out.   regards
