I don't recommend using engine oil on bass before cooking. 
the taste would be really nasty....

I wonder what type of oil smitty puts on his "bass" before he cooks it??? Peanut?? Plain old Vegetable, or Canola?

Put a little engine oil on the bass and heat with a propane torch.
