   I bang, I bang...Wooo hoo, I feel my Vair IQ is above 75...yeeeee 
haaa.....(u have noooo idea how it feels to diagnose someoneelses problem within a 50% 
chance of being right)....somehow, I'm always within the <30% pct correct on 
my own Vair... ANyways Rog..I hope you get it straight in a couple of weeks...

     Your problem could be transmission, clutch, or differential (you REALLY
don't want this last one). I could enumerate, but it boils down to this: you
are going to have to remove your transaxle. The way  is to remove
the whole powertrain (by the book), . Now that I've got you resigned to the 
worst, cross your fingers and
check all four of your u-joints. If it's one of these, then you can ignore
all of the above, except for the first sentence. That's right - 1965
u-joints are (slightly) different from 1966-69 u-joints.
