<VV> MG wheels for 63 vair

Anyone had any experience with steel MGB wheels on early models? 
These are the mid seventies variety that look somewhat like pontiac 
rally wheels.  I have heard they fit, and I'm not too happy with the 
13" tires and wheels that were stock. Found a set for sale, though my 
car is up on stands and all the wiring is out and the top is in 
shreds and the seats are on the workbench...good time to buy fancy 
wheels... Thanks!
