It probably would since it both insulates and helps erosion.  But I don't 
know what it would do to any of the internal clearances.  I don't know just 
how thick the coating is, nor how tight the tolerances inside the exhaust 
scroll.  But I'm sure they could mask off the internals and just do the 
outside if you wanted.

On the other hand, the exhaust scroll is pretty durable -- much more so 
than the exhaust pipes themselves.  I just painted mine and it seems to be 
doing fine.
