How would one identify this right-hand mirror? No doubt, it's easier with
one of each in hand, so assuming that we do, WHERE are we looking for a
different angle? The "stem" vis a vis the base, or where? What would be the
part number(s) of the genuine GM version(s) of this rare animal? Do you have
one of these things, yourself?

There is actually a right hand outside rearview mirror for Corvairs.
It's got an "opposite hand" angle on it that allows it to have the same
field of adjustment as the left hand mirror. If you use a left hand
mirror on the right hand, you end up with just the situation Marc has.
