i use an older videocapture card in my puter to convert personal tapes to 
digiatal files. it works good at 15fps. 1 minute =abt 600mb.  it is nice to keep 
files at 1 min to burn disks.  i have neat files of model airplane flying etc 
1 minute segments.  if i had dvd (coming someday) possibilities would be more. 
i run very large hard drives to keep some of the longer files to enjoy.all 
you need is a video card with composite input and you are in business.  regards
