<VV> waste oil heaters

Is this thread still alive?  I'm only a week behind.  
I made one of the Mother Earth News waste oil heaters yers ago.  I got it to work, but it put out VERY little heat.  Today's successful waste oil heaters atomize the oil with a high-pressure pump or air gun.  I know of a body shop that used an old paint spray gun!
