Dan,

My bad plug wire(s) only showed up under load (50% throttle or more) and
then only when the engine was warm.  It would have passed a balance test
just fine.  I  don't want to think about all the stuff I replaced first.  My
real problem was that I thought I'd replaced the plug wires and it wasn't
until I found the new ones still in box months later that I finally solved
the problem.
