Maybe he can print up paisley bumper stickers this time...that way he can
recycle them on his next campaign by simply printing over 2004 without having
to actually choose a colour. Last week I attended the Toronto Auto Show and
was able to have a short chat with Brock Yates...writer for Car and Driver and
the author of a rather well written essay on you know who and thanked him for
making me see the light. You can find a reprint near the back of John Wipff's
"The Compleat History Of The Corvair For the Compleat Corvair Nut !!". Back
when written I was a subscriber to Car and Driver and remember reading it with
great interest. It affected my outlook on government control of the auto
industry and just how effectively "Unsafe at any Speed" scared the consumer into
thinking the Big 3 was out to kill us all. All this under the guise that
(dare I say the "N" word?) Nader had no alterior motives but to save us all from
ourselves. It's the power trip folks! If he wasn't so straight laced he'd
probably be doing something like his own reality show or ripping off Janet
Jacksons top just for the shock value. Mr. Yates said it best about zealots when he
quoted Marcel Proust, "Love those who seek the truth; Beware of those who
find it. Never trust a guy who dresses like Rod Serling...he's probably just as
scarey ;^)
