On the subject of oiling down your car.

A friend (on of the co-founders of The Central NH Corvair Assoc for
mandatory Corvair content) recent put together an '86 Chevy Suburban
(somebody had dropped a bolt down the throat of it's 454) The only reason
the vehicle was worth rebuilding was that the body had no rust to it (no
small feat in NH). The vehicle had been owned by a former trucking company
and every fall it would get put on a lift and the underside would get
covered with used engine oil. While I admit, it's a mess to work on
underneath, it is amazing to see that after 185K there is no rust in the
rockers, no rust in the door panels, no rust in the quarters and the frame
has no rust flakes. In New England, that is a rare sight on anything that
has been driven in winter.

Same friend has another use for his waste oil. While he was driving his
diesel VW, after every oil change, he would dump the oil in his fuel tank.
Every time he changed his fuel filter (once a year) he would pre-fill it
with Dexron to keep the injectors clean.

So there are lots of ways to get rid of old oil. Trust an old yankee to
find ways that are cheap.
