I always cut the used motor oil with a little clean-up lacquer thinner to
thin it a tad, then simply poured it into the oil tank.  I could dispose of
a complete oil change at one time this way.    And no, I never had the
first problem doing it not did anything smoke or likewise do anything out
of the ordinary.
