Joe,
Thanks for the advice and I can tell you from personal experience that you
are right on the money. I put the line in over the weekend using the method
you outlined in your post. Once I persuaded the line to make its way up to
the rear junction block, the rest of it just fell into place. I did take the
clutch cable and parking brake cable loose to get them out of the way.

My main reason for not to using a joint, was my failure to perform a proper
double flare on my practice pieces. Thanks for pointing out the danger of
hidden joints. That is something that never crossed my mind.

Whenever I'm not sure of something I like to post it to the list and so far
you guys have never let me down. Thanks guys!
