<VV> Side vents

I just bought a 1966 Corvair Corsa and Discovered that the side vents under the dash have no operating mechanism so the pull knob just flops in and out. I would appreciate any advice on how these can be "rebuilt", that is, is a kit available with the " door/ flap" that opens and closes and the cable for the knob. Also how do I determine is anything is missing on the frame which would hold the vent door.
