I can site a similar experience when I shipped a one pound parcel item from
Pennsylvania to Texas.  I compared costs between UPS and USPS, for shipping
a watch with a high value.  UPS wanted $125 for insurance and 2 day air
service, USPS was under $25 including insurance, registered mail, return
receipt and priority handling.  This is the most extreme difference in
pricing for identical services that I have ever seen.
