Ron-i think the factory added an extra spotwelded brace to the door skin that is threaded for mirror screws.Personally, i'd mount a mirror,but if you don't want to right now,I'd suggest you clean the threads w/a tap and put appropriate set screws in,sealed w/ rubber cement,then bondo the holes,leaving the option to mount one later-not welding them up..Tom
