Now Available, the adapter to install the New Flaming River quick ratio  
steering box into the 1965-66 Corvair. The new slip-shaft adapter allows the new  
heavy-duty box to be bolted into the late-1965 and all 1966 Corvairs. It works 
 with either the regular or telescoping column. The adapter consists of the  
splined stainless-steel Universal joint at the box, a coupler at the column  
end, and a collapsible two-piece shaft in between. This collapsible coupler  
allows 3 inches of additional rearward travel before any movement  of the 
steering wheel. With the additional coupler and low mounted U-joint, not  only do 
you gain the benefit of faster steering response of the quicker steering  box, 
but you gain more front crush space, in case of an accident. Don't be a  target!
 
Pricing - The fast ratio Heavy duty box is still $325. The heavy-duty  
collapsible shaft assembly is  $189 by itself, but only $175 when ordered  with a 
quick box. Shipping is additional on both. These parts are in stock at  Silicone

and early-1965 Corvairs with the long shaft steering box.
