Ron,
There simply must be a logical answer. I've been to your site (in the past
month), and I must say it is a fine site. Looks like there was a lot of
thought and effort that went into the design and execution of it. But, from a
customer stand point, I want to expose my product to as many people as I can. And
because Ebay has been the rage and is so established, its just a hard nut to
crack.
As far as the reception you got, I can't explain that. Perhaps some people
were well meaning and tried to balanace the "legalities" of the CPF and other
institutions related to the club. Perhaps they realised that as a orphan car
marque it might not make sense to constrict the reach further by perhaps
neccesitating the need for memebers to have to remember two cumbersome addresses to
track various auctions they might be interested in (I say this with
experiance because I visit Yahoo as well as Ebay..I can get tedious to track different
things and also to remember certain differences in navigation of the two
sites.)
I will take it upon myself to say that noone wished ill upon your
endevour. But the marketplace of internet auctions are reduced to two groups...EBAY
and then everyoneelse...There's nobody even close to ebay in reach, hits, money
swapped, and products sold.

See previous comments below and then......
What "part of the commission fees" what percentage?
I operated an auction website for over a year and committed 100%
of the fees collected to CPF. Those fees were sent in every quarter.
Couldn't get a mention fron the CPF or CORSA and was even told to be
careful using the CPF or CORSA name on the website. Never got a soul
interested in buying and selling Corvair parts on ALTOH. Now Ebay
is all the rage with our Corvair leadership and they are trumpeted
in our national publication for the great things they do for us.
This is not exactly sour grapes. I'm a big boy and I constantly
learn lessons in the business world. JUst makes me wonder why I,
a member was treated so differently?
