To find TDC I use the balloon method.  Take a old spark plug break off the
insulator part leaving just the hollow thread part.  Tape a balloon to it
screw it in #1 .  On the compression stroke the balloon will inflate ,  on
the exhaust stroke the balloon will deflate.  Check rotor position on
compression stroke.
