Hi Cecil,
Since yours is a 1967, the General is being accused unfairly here. That 
junction point used as the power source was fused. Now maybe the PO removed the 
fusing, or somehow bypassed it, but it  DID come from the factory, fused. In fact 
on the 1967s---69s, ALL battery power was fused except for the starter.

OH, where is that fuse, you might ask? It is in the form of a FUSIBLE LINK, 
otherwise known as a special wire that opens up and turns crinkled when 
excessive current is drawn. In fact, your 67 came from the factory with three of 
these fisible links in various circuits.
