Hod different is the powerglide application (ie linkage, etc ) used in
the corvair to those in other early GM vehicles?

I doubt if any part of a Corvair was used in any Powerglide other than the
Corvair. They are both 2-speed automatics and are called Powerglides. That's
about it. Indeed, there might be a small part or two used. But the Corvair PG
was designed when the Big-car PG was cast Iron. The aluminum PG was not around
until 63 in the big cars. By the time of it's use and adoption into the
Chevy II, Chevelle, etc, (all Front engine cars) the Big car parts and whole
transmissions were available. By the mid-life of the Corvair - 65 - the big
cars were going to Turbo-Hydros, 3-speeds and no commonality, even in name, with
the Corvair. -Seth
