You need to cut the original plug from the harness and get a rectangular plug 
that matches the IR.  The white wire is wired to the idiot light lead wire, 
the red wire is wired to the output terminal of the IR and the output terminal 
is wired to the battery hot lead and the main hot lead to the front of the 
car.  Remove the old external regulator.
