Frank! gg    All you have to do is gear down!  Then the engine isn't as 
finicky.....

Most do not remember the Mallory DUAL  advance units.....dual points yes..but 
they also made dual mechanical advances!

You could set one up to have lots of lead during start, then retard for good 
idle [ alchohol fuel]  or have 2 different curves of advance at above or below 
a certain rpm.....and even have one curve RETARD at higher RPMS [ for non - 
electronic cars trying to pull a real tall gear at 170 mph...
