Boy this sounds familiar (cylinder miss) My 63
developed the same symptoms, turned out that a rocker
arm stud loosened enough that the rocker arm pivoted
90 deg. and the valve no longer functioned. Pull the
valve cover on the side with the miss (fairly easy to
do unless it's got dual exhaust or it's on the muffler
side) Mine had no damage so all you really need to do
is retorque the stud and readjust the valve. Probably
should do a complete valve adjust once you're home.
