One possible reason for the relativly slow 1/4 mile time might be that I reminded Don a couple of times about the relatively fragile differential. (he already knew that as he built a kit car in the 70s (Avenger?) with a V-8 and a Corvair transaxle. I didn't want the car to break and neither did he. I have spun the rear tires maybe ten times or so. I think his launch might have been a bit more prudent than it needed to be. Could you imagine the "bad ink" had he done otherwise? I think he did the right thing.
Paul

Congrats Paul. Bet that was fun. Did Don do the driving and were the accel
uns done on a long straight?
The 102 mph shows u have good hp and the 14.3 qtr time shows possibly
raction problems on launch. Others can comment better but a 102 mph
sually is coupled with a 13 sec qtr mile. The 5.8 time also looks real
ood showing u have good hp.

He made some recommendations for changes:
3:08 ring and pinion (anybody have for sale?)
Current tires, BFG Radial TAs M&S, should be changed for better cornering
umbers.
A good Michelin or other would probably help launch too as well as corning
's but as I remember, you have 60 or 70 section tires and may be hard to
ind a modern tire to go with your MiniLites. 0.9 G is good, you may want
o keep the better ride of the bigger section tire and that allows u to
eep the good MiniLites.
Congrats again-way C
