[V8Vairs] Perfect Engine for V-8 Corvair

My thinking is with torque and horsepower being developed at higher RPM,
upshifts have to be quicker to reduce the RPM drop between shifts. This
is because the engine would have less power to accelerate if the RPM is
allowed to drop too low. This quick shifting is hard on the transaxle.

With more torque, shifts can be more leisurely since the engine would
have enough torque to pull when the RPM drops.

The transaxle is stressed less by steady application of power than by
the shock of rapid shifts. Again I offer Mike Levine's pure
Crown/Corvair transaxle as empirical proof. His engine makes lots of
torque and his transaxle lasts and lasts (less one recent bearing
failure not related to the engine output).
