To those who have contacted me regarding my posting for the Crown
headers
I apologize for not responding but other issues are taking
precedence.
In addition, I have decided to not initially sell off the headers and
other components to my project, until other potential buyers are
given an opportunity to buy my complete Corv-8 project .
Due to a divorce, I will be offering for sale, in a few months, a 35
year Corv-8 project. That is not a misprint. I started on this car in
the Fall of 1973.
The body is a pristine, near rust free 65 Corsa Coupe that originally
was a Turbo car. It was in dry storage from 1980 until this past
June. The interior pan has all cut outs and the sub frame is sitting
in place. The front roll pan is cut out below the bumper only with a
69 Z-28 factory spoiler attached.
The complete Crown kit was removed from a previous 65 convertible
that I owned.
Some of the items I have include:
Original Crown sub frame with two added braces tacked in place
between the front cross rail and the two side rails.
Original Crown adapter plate with third member mounts.
An extra reproduced adapter plate.
Original U shaped Crown shift rod to clear the oil pan.
An extra reproduced U shift rod.
Modified original Corvair shift rod with bronze bushings installed
and a very clean two-point mount at the rear.
The original Crown fiberglass cover with seats.
The Crown main shaft installed in a rebuilt 66 Saginaw 4 spd.
Cut down differential housing with excess weight removed.
The Crown V8 Headers previously mentioned.
All the rest of the Crown Kit including 4-spider gear positraction
carrier.
Front suspension rebuilt with caliper brackets modified for Chevelle
Disc brakes.
NOS Factory fuel tank.
NOS fuzzys, chrome trim, emblems and hardware.
NOS tail light assemblies. (66 style)
Engine is a 355 cu in. 1971 LT-1 crate motor that was fully
blueprinted with ported heads.
New Lakewood scatter shield modified for specific use in Crown V-8
with Cad Iridite plating.
Rebuilt lower control arms with Cad Iridite plating.
New lower control arm relocation bracket w. Cad Iridite plating.
There is much more
but this gives some idea.
I would prefer to sell everything to someone who will follow through
on this project rather than piece everything out.
For SERIOUS buyers I can provide photos, but it will take time as the
car and all parts are stored in a shop building 100 mile from my
location. I can provide some pictures of specific items and further
details, but I am not in a hurry to sell. Actually I would prefer not
selling
but circumstances dictate otherwise.
I just wanted to provide a heads up that a very complete long-term
Corv-8 project would be available for sale in a few months.
The car and parts are located approximately 100 miles SW of St. Louis
MO. I would prefer a buyer local or within reasonable distance.
I have not set a price on the project or any parts, including the
headers, as I would prefer to first consider offers on the complete
project.
If no one expresses interest I may part it out at some point in the
future.
I will try to answer what questions I can and provide additional
details as time allows. A visit to see the car by a SERIOUS potential
buyer is possible with enough advanced notice, but ideally I would
prefer to show the car later in the Summer or Fall when things settle
down a bit more. I do not have the time or opportunity to show the
car to curious tire kickers.
For those with serious interest in the project, I can be contacted at
