[V8Vairs] front brakes?

Richard-
The spindles are strong enough to stop the car wioth drum brakes so why 
would that change for discs?
I have a friend who has had a '65 Corvair front end in his '34 Ford 
streetrod since '65 and nothing has broken. The car weighs a little over 
3000 lbs and doesn't stop too well with the Corvair drums. We are finally 
changing it over to disc brakes this spring. He bought brackets, on Ebay, 
from Scarebird.com. They use 4wd S10 rotors and 2wd S10 calipers.
