I swapped out the Morse cable with the shorter one I had and rerouted it 
to lower  excess length and possible flex of the internal cable.  I 
adjusted angles to make sure everything was aimed correctly.  Then 
I moved the point on the carburetor rod arm down one half inch where the 
cable 
connects.  It appeared that what it had was drilled by somebody.
This took up quite a bit of time kicking and screaming at the whole 
project.  The secondaries now open, and it can use a much lighter spring. 
So I took it out for a drive, and kicked the pedal and WHOOOM.  So that is 
what a QJ sounds like opening up.  I scared myself, the car screams now.
