[V8Vairs] Long Term Engine Storage

Paul,

We have a $9000 (I mentioned the price because I could never afford a motor 
like this but the owner of the project is good friends with the engine builder) 
496 big block Chevy at work that has been sitting on an engine stand since it 
was built and dynoed about 2 years ago.  It is in a controlled environment 
but no mention was ever made about rotating it.  I assume that we are going to 
spin up the oil pump before we fire it because all of the timing information 
has been recorded and we know what it will do.  At the same time, I do not see 
how it could hurt to periodically turn your motor, though the 350 I have for my 
Corvair (which came out of the above mentioned project) has been sitting for 
about 3 years.  I am not worried about it.
