[SCG] Multiplex antenna

You are confussing the issue mixing radios with antenna's. If the car came
from the factory with an AM-FM radio, it came with the correct antenna for
FM reception. If it came from the factory with the AM radio, then it came
with a extendable antenna. If the dealer did a AM-FM install using a
accessory radio, then the dealer had the choice to instruct the owner to
lower the antenna to the correct hight when using FM. Many people prefered
the extendable antenna, since FM reception was limited to larger cities, and
the signal didn't travel very far. When they were not in the city, they
used AM, and extended the antenna all the way to bring in better reception
of the weaker far away AM stations. With or without the multiplex, the
antenna is a seperate issue... Paul in CT
