Hi everyone, Below are highlights from the CORSA monthly board
of directors conference call. Hope you had fun at Tri-State, I was sorry
to miss it.
*1. Membership mailings and events, Jack & Mike:*
-CORSA membership brochures - They have been sent to all chapters who
requested them. All remaining will be taken to the convention. Next
printing will be after the convention. Brochures continue to be shipped
with Clarks Corvairs and California Corvairs orders.
-QR Codes - Some clubs are using QR codes on brochures and stickers at
shows to allow people to scan and be directed straight to the chapter's
website. They are also using them for vehicle information at shows,
putting them on their car window on a small sticker, scanning the code to
be directed to information about that model year. Discussed using these at
upcoming conventions, they are cheap to have made as black and white
stickers.
-Other clubs - Reaching out to other general car clubs which may include
Corvairs to try to encourage and include them in Corsa, particularly
certain groups who might not feel welcome at a Corsa event such as highly
modified custom cars, etc, creating categories for them within Corsa to
facilitate participation - This is an opportunity to expand the scope of
CORSA membership. Discuss further at convention directors meeting.
*2. Update on Contracts, Allan and Mike*
-Contracts signed for new executive secretary and for the social media
consultant. Finalizing the contract for the new executive editor.
*3. Contract for Information technology to augment our new contractors*
-Considering offering another contract position for computer services to
manage the CORSA membership system and website services. This role has not
fallen to any one person and has been shared by board members and Corsa
contractors in the past. Discussed that it would be beneficial to have
these tasks centralized. Will discuss further at convention directors
meeting.
*4. Convention board Meeting *
-Discussed details of board meeting at upcoming convention
*5 Convention Worker Schedule for the Corsa Merchandise Booth *
-Discussed manning the merchandise booth at the upcoming convention
*6. Chevrolet Hall of Fame Museum Update. *
-Continued the discussion on moving the CORSA museum out of Ypsilanti -
Looking into trying to share the CHOF museum space with VCCA but they have
a small collection that does not include cars. CHOF opportunity appears to
be too costly for Corsa alone but no alternatives have been found that are
as attractive. Need to find an alternative plan if we cannot share this
space with another group. Discussed funding streams and other
possibilities to move the museum. Will discuss at the general meeting at
upcoming convention for ideas. Would be nice if CHOF would rent CORSA half
of the space they have available but thus far they are not interested in
that.
*7 Contract with Norm Witte, legal council for Corsa Moving Forward.*
-Discussed maintaining a Corsa official address in Illinois as we
transition to our new executive contractors who are
outside Illinois. Corsa is incorporated in Illinois and all documents are
written under Illinois law. Discussed not needing to retain an attorney
will only contract/retain an Illinois attorney if and when needed.
*8. Convention Corsa Meeting, CPF Meeting. *
-General discussion about upcoming convention events.
*9. Harry and Mike Retirement, get together at Herford House Bar*
- Retirement get together for Harry and Mike to be on Thursday night during
the convention.
That's all for now,
Best,
Nick.
