I would like to participate in the event coming on August 4th in Broomfield. I can help out with parking as well. While at the swap meet I will be looking for brake or, back up metal light units and lenses. I'd like to convert my back up lights to brake lights. Not having been to a swap meet before, is it advisable to have cash or, would a credit card be acceptable? Before I do any long distance driving, however, I would like to get the shocks replaced on my '64 Corvair Monza Convertible. If Dave Feasel has a "Tech Session" this month I want to get on his list to address the shocks. My Corvair is a little ratty looking so I don't want to disgrace the club with an ugly car at shows!<br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Ed, your latest PPCC newsletter is great! So, take a look below, and if you plan on attending the event, please also consider picking up a parking shift so we can help to make this show a fun time for everyone. Call Dick Thompson to help out if you car, his number is noted at the bottom of the below email excerpt:</p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">---------------------------</p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="color: black; font-family: arial; font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Calibri; font-size: medium;">To all CCCC club representatives:</span></span></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">To make the Rocky Mountain Metro Airport (RMMA) Air & Ground Show succeed, we need the help of many volunteers willing to put in a couple hours at the show. Previous airport shows have suffered from poor parking planning, and we are determined to make this go as smoothly as possible. The date is Saturday, August 4th. As outlined by Dick Thompson below, we need volunteers to handle spectator parking. We hope clubs can provide members to work as a group, but any and all volunteers would be welcomed. Please give Dick a call, the sooner the better. It's a great opportunity (and you get a free lunch!).</span></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;"><br></span></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="font-family: Calibri;">Dick Fritz, CCCC secretary</span> </p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><div>Here is the planning for the RMMA Air & Ground Show:</div><ul><li>5 am to 7 am: Move in for<strong>Swap Meet Vendors</strong>(handled by Swap Meet volunteers). </li><li>7 am to 8:30 am: Move in for <strong>Car Shows </strong>(handled by Car Show Inc and Early Mustang Club). </li><li>7 am on: Move in for<strong>Spectator parking </strong>lots (this is where it gets crazy!!!).</li></ul><div>So we will need volunteers from 7AM until 5PM for the spectator parking lots. 10 hours. I am breaking it into 2 hour shifts and really thinking that most folks could do 2 shifts during the day. Example you could do 7AM to 9AM and take time off to view the show and see everything and then 1/2 of them come back at 11AM to 1PM and the other 1/2 come back 1PM to 3PM. Folks who do the 9AM to 11AM shift come back at 3PM to 5PM to help folks move out of the parking lots. If this works the way I think it can we can do this with 100 volunteers.</div><div><br></div><div>As stated earlier - each volunteer will receive a free lunch provided by the Rocky Mtn Metro Airport and a free T Shirt. We will also have access to the Airport Maintenance Building to cool off and rest. We will have a 10X10 canopy at each parking lot (10 of them). And water and a cooler to keep the water cold. And the cool part is that all Volunteers will receive not only free parking but also front row parking at the car show.</div><div><br></div><div>The Jefferson County Sheriff will handle all traffic and there will be lots and lots of signs telling folks where to go (Like swap meet vendors, car show cars and spectators). </div><div><br></div><div>We need volunteer Team Leaders (those in charge of the lot and will notify the manager when lot is full) , Money Takers (Those who will be taking the $5 per car parking fee) and Parkers (those who will help folks find a spot and then notify the Team Leader that the site is full). When the smaller lots fill up we will move the volunteers to the other lots to help out there. Unfortunately there are 10 lots available that day for parking. If your club would like to work together we can make sure that happens. </div><div><br></div><div>Dick Thompson</div><div>CCCC</div><div><br></div><div>303-699-4819 or 303-929-5533</div><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">-----------------------------------------------------</p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><em style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;">Ed Halpin, PPCC Rep to the CCCC</em><br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><em style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px;"><br></em></p><blockquote type="cite">---------- Original Message ---------- <br>From: Ed Halpin <halpinem@comcast.net> <br>To: Corvair - PPCC Email List <PPCC-list@corvair.org> <br>Date: June 14, 2018 at 2:47 PM <br>Subject: Rocky Mountain Air & Ground Festival 8-4-18 <br> <br><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Hello PPCC Crew,</p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Forwarding on to you all the attached flyer regarding the upcoming CCCC Swap Meet, which will be held this year, in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Air & Ground Festival up in Broomfield. </p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;">Sounds like a fun event, so if you're in the area that day, ... :)</p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><p style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br></p><div class="ox-7571ddfeb1-ox-d7d3bbd514-ox-1aeff8fe04-ox-9980c4b6c0-io-ox-signature"><div><em>Ed Halpin, CCCC Rep for the PPCC</em></div></div></blockquote><p class="ox-7571ddfeb1-ox-d7d3bbd514-ox-1aeff8fe04-default-style" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br> </p></blockquote><p class="ox-7571ddfeb1-ox-d7d3bbd514-default-style" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: helvetica,arial,sans-serif; font-size: 12pt;"><br> </p><blockquote type="cite">_______________________________________________ This message was sent by the PPCCs mailing list, all copyrights are the property of the writer, please attribute properly.
