Snowy Greetings to Everyone,
I hope you are all staying warm and cozy in your homes today. Since the meeting was cancelled, I wanted to share some club information and news with you.
We want to welcome our new club member, Doug Vinton and his wife, Layne. They live in Larkspur and own a 1966 Monza Coupe. Welcome to the club and we look forward to seeing you at the upcoming activities, events, and meetings.
Our treasury has a balance of $2498. The 2018 dues ($25), can be mailed to the club mailbox. Ed wrote an article in the newsletter about dues renewal and membership drive. All dues should be paid by the end of Feb. and there are some great ways to get a discount on your dues by having a new member join up too.
Thank you to Ed Halpin for becoming the 2018 editor for our monthly newsletters.
Dave Wenzlick, of the Cactus Corvair Club, along with several other Cactus members, have cleaned the cut away car up and taken it to several shows in the Phoenix area. It is getting lots of attention and conversations at the local shows down there. He found vintage CO tags on E-Bay and bought them for the car. Thank you to Dave being its guardian for our club and taking it out to the shows to promote Corvairs. He is looking forward to trailering it to Crested Butte for the Tri-State and presenting it back to the PPCC. Donations for the cut away are still accepted and should be directed to Wayne, our Treasurer.
The PPCC car tech library is at the Feasel's garage and available to our members. A list of the books, manuals, and materials is being made. The Feasel's garage has been busy with rebuilding, repairing, and restoring cars. Dave McGill's car is done and out on the road along with John and Kathy Green's Lakewood. Daniel Teschner's car is currently there.
Some of the upcoming tech sessions this year will include welding fender panels, lumen measurements, windshield repair, removal, and installation, rebuild differentials, deflashing heads, rebuild transmissions, both manual and automatic, how to roll a fender, and making LED tailights. Any session you are interested in adding to the list, please let Dave Feasel know. Dave will be keeping everyone posted as to when these and other sessions will take place.
A few car shows and a swap meets are coming up the next few months. Mark your calenders:
The Polar Bear Swap Meet will be at the Adams County Fairgrounds on Jan. 27th.
The Tri-State Swap Meet will be Feb 3-4 at the The Western Complex, Denver. Hours are 8-5 on the 3rd, and 8-2 on the 4th. There are always fun finds waiting to be found there.

We will be having the 2018 'Bug Out Tune-Up' on June 2nd at the Feasel's garage. All tools provided...you need to bring your own parts.
The following weekend, (June 8-10), is the Tri-State Gathering in Crested Butte, at the Grand Lodge. Call 888-443-6715 for your hotel reservations and mention you are part of the Rocky Mt. CORSA Tri-State Rally group.

A BIG Thanks Dan Teschner for posting an interesting tech video on diagnosing and repairing sloppy shifting in Corvairs on the Facebook page and to Ed Halpin for posting a great article (sent to him from John Green), written by Jay Leno, which was in Hagerty magazine to our emails. Even without our meeting, we can all enjoy learning some interesting tech information.
I hope this gets everyone up to date on club happenings!!
Take care and Keep Vairin',
Chris
