Hi all,
A couple of weekends ago I went up to the Corvair Ranch and checked in on my '65 Corsa 140 convertible. Jeff and I went over the car and discussed what I wanted done. Although it looks awful, structurally it's very sound -- shockingly so. Jeff was pretty
impressed, which is really saying something considering that he's probably pretty jaded by Corvairs. A couple of days ago Jeff sent me an estimate and I think we're definitely in the same ballpark. He even thinks he can turn it around by April, although I think June or July is more
realistic.
- If anyone would like to get rid of NOS, repro, or very good original trim, please let me know.
- Does anyone have any experience with the Flaming River steering box? Is this overkill or a sensible upgrade?
- How would you go about installing a
three-point harness in a late convertible? At the Ranch, I saw a junked early sedan with the Chrysler Sebring front seat retrofit. Although it looked goofy, I have to admit that it's a sensible upgrade (especially here in the DC metro area, where too many drivers are distracted
by their cell phones).
Many thanks,
daniel
