Good afternoon,

The Board of Directors of the Corvanatics group (the oldest chapter of 
the Corvair Society of America; CORSA) would like more information on 
this take-down request. According the email we received, the take-down 
request was issued by a Volkswagen organization of some kind, with no 
connection to the Corvair marque, nor to the light duty Corvair trucks 
made during the early 1960s. The logo in question has been in continuous 
use by the Corvanatics use since the early 1970s, and, to our knowledge, 
has never been under any scrutiny for any reason.

The Corvanatics Board of Directors are formally requesting a copy of the 
specific take-down request issued by Volkswagen AG so that we may 
understand more fully the rationale behind this unfortunate circumstance.

Hi Ben,

Your first assignment as a Director since you have the writing background.

As you saw in my BoD online correspondence recently, we dropped 
CafePress as an online on demand store. I found a couple others to use, 
both offer different items and at different prices. On TEEPUBLIC, I had 
included, besides the logo, this design, which is the one they received 
a complaint on (see attached email). (The background is transparent, not 
black. I just work in dark mode and did a screen shot).

Attached is their email. Steve S sent me "I suggest that you just ask 
for a copy of the take down request.  Explain that the Corvanatics logo 
has been in use and widely published for 46 years." You've also been in 
the club for a very long time. I just don't want them to get away with 
this without some counter action. I'm sure it will have to come from the 
club email as that is what the account is registered under, so if you 
will just write up something, I will send it, but change my normal 
signature to you as a Director. Thanks.
