On my Rampy, I upgraded to dual master cylinder while replacing the entire brake system along with emergency brake components.

I have had a dual system on all of my vehicles , Including the Rampy for many years. It has worked well for me , and I use silicone fluid. I got frightened into it by a Greenbrier failure coming down a mountain road in Vermont in the early 80's. The first thing I do to any vehicle I work on is the whole brake system.

I did not as one did not come w/ the kit. My understanding is that a proportioning valve is only necessary when changing to front disk.

I converted my '62 Corvan to a dual mater
cylinder w/ the Clark's kit a few years back. I use a
screwdriver of small pry bar to open the master cylinder and
a small narrow funnel to fill the reservoirs (reminder to
self: should probably check fluid level:)
I was impressed w/ the difference in
braking as a result of the conversion. Very happy w/ the
brakes on the van now. Keep in mind I have also been thru
the rest of the system.

Hi and Happy Easter to All,
I have a couple, six questions.
For anyone who has changed to a dual
master cylinder:
Do you need to modify the opening in
the floor to service it??If so, what did you do?
Sticking with brakes:
Anyone put Disc brakes in the front??Is
so, what parts did you use? Did you have to change wheels?
For those who are OEM:
The plastic defroster vents in the
dash:
What color should they be?
I have several some are painted and
some are a grayish color with no paint.Standard vs Deluxe
trim?
Last Question:
I am still looking for the seal for the
plastic air door behind the grill (I believe it is 64/64)
that lets air into the cab.
Thank you in advance.
Best Regards,Eric

I know it seems the popular thing to do
but the FC does not need disc brakes. Good working drum
brakes are more than adequate for the FC.
As far as the dual master goes if you
look around there is a Cadillac master cyl that has the
outlets on the opposite side so the lines don't go right
into the frame rail. I think it also has a bolt top and with
care can be serviced through the floor opening. The bail
wire top is a real pain to open and latch through the
opening.
