maybe this will help you,if you use a oil pressure switch,make sure it has three connections,one n.o. post, one n.c. post,and one common post,if you still want to use your dummie light,connect your light to the n.c post,and common post of the switch to ground,when there is no oil pressure light will be on,connect the ground wire from the electric pump to the n.o. post,and the positive wire from pump to any 12 volts, you can use key switch,or toggle switch,so when you start and get oil pressure,the switch will ground the pump and it will run and the dummie light will go off.

There should be no connection to the starter.
The safety switch merely only stops connection when the oil
pressure drops. When you start to crank it takes a
little while (seconds) to register oil pressure, and so you
don't get a completed circuit for a short time, but apart
from that so long as it has pressure it should supply the
pump with power. On shutdown of the engine the pump will
continue for a short time while oil pressure drops and the
switch shuts.
So wire power from the battery to one
side of the oil pressure switch, and from the other direct
to the pump. Then from the pump to earth.
You can put an extra push to complete
in the circuit to prime the carbs before starting, if you
think it is taking too long to crank up pressure and get the
pump to start.
Hope that helps
Cheers,
Daren

Subject: [FC] Electric Fuel Pump
Shutoff Switch - Has anyone experienced this problem?
Hello All;
Still experiencing a problem in trying
to get my electric fuel pump to work in conjunction with the
oil pressure cutoff switch (replaces standard oil pressure
switch).
* Red lead from pump is
connected to the "P" lead on oil pressure safety
switch
* "S" terminal on safety
switch is connected to "S" terminal on starter
* "I" terminal on safety
switch is connected to a terminal on the fuse block that is
hot when the ignition switch is in "on" or "start" position
(wiring diagram shows it being connected directly to the
ignition switch)
I have confirmed that the starter and
electric fuel pump both work.
When I connect the wires/terminals on
the oil pressure safety switch with a jumper wire, the
engine turns over.
I have purchased/tested two oil
pressure safety switches and both present the same issue.
According to what I have read online,
there should be some sort of bypass in the switch that lets
the engine crank before there is enough oil pressure.
Could it be that I need to connect the
"I" terminal directly to the ignition switch?
I'm about ready to ditch the safety
switch and wire the pump directly to the fuse block.
Any suggestions? I am hoping to
get it operable for the Woodward Dream Cruise Saturday - I
live 1/4 mile away.
Thanks,
Scott Wilson
