Fred,
JR is correct, thought the FC also had an indicator in the dash panel. This might mean a manual trans instrument cluster for yours. Others will chime in.
The sequence is correct, gotta count them or make yourself a paper tag for now.

I'm not sure what the shift lever looks like on a PG (Power Gluide) since
mine is a 4 speed and I never paid enough attention to the automatics, but I
think your description is correct. You need to know that there is NO Park
gear - only R-N-D-L in that order from top to bottom. I know that the cars
have a guide along the side of the lever with light behind it for when the
headlights are on. You might be missing a piece of the dash.
Don't forget to use the parking (or E) brake when leaving the vehicle.
