In addition Bob's comments I would recommend using premium gas as well. I know we are a cost effective bunch, but for a car that doesn't get driven much the extra cost for more stable high octane is worth it in my experience. Besides, even the 95hp engines required 89 octane. The Chevy Volt requires premium because Chevy anticipates long periods before the car uses a full tank of gas and premium is more stable than 87 octane over time.

Tim, if the Rampside starts and runs, just add some fresh fuel and drive
on. Come this Fall, if you plan to store the Rampside (or the
lawnmower), add Sta-Bil ethanol formula to the fuel and run it so that
treated fuel gets into the carbs.

for its' spring tune up. The mechanic said that there was jell in the carb. He
cleaned it and put fresh gas in and now she runs fine. He recommended that I
throw away any gas back home in my gas can, that there was enough alcohol in
gasoline today that it pulls water from the air into standing fuel. Of course
there sits Rampy with probably 10 gallons of old gas from last fall in her tank.
What (if any) fuel additive is everyone using for this issue?Tim W '61 Rampy 140
4 speed.
